Those of you in Utah know that I have enjoyed going to Real Salt Lake games the last few years with family. My brothers and I have really embraced soccer. However, being a fan of Real Salt Lake has been a lesson in futility. On Saturday Real Salt Lake needed to tie and/or beat the Colorado Rapids to make the playoffs. When Real was down by a goal with only a minute left we had all pretty much conceded that the season was over, but then a miracle happened.

Falling in love with Daddy
Every night our family writes in a gratitude journal as part of our bedtime routine. We take turns mentioning something we were grateful for that day. The other night while we were beginning our routine Olivia wanted to kiss Cory on the cheek, she kept kissing Cory "one more time" or "this time on your lips," then again on his cheek, and so on for a few minutes while the rest of us took our turns. When it was Olivia's turn to say what she was grateful for, she said, "I'm grateful I could fall in love with Daddy tonight."

We have a new nephew!
We have a new nephew, and I was finally able to see him yesterday.
Welcome to this new world little Christopher Neal!

CRAZY HAIR DAY
It's red ribbon week at the girls' elementary school, and they are very excited about participating in all the fun activities. Yesterday was crazy hair day, and they both got really excited about their new do's, so I thought I'd post a few pictures.

Here are a few of Abbey:

And here are a few of Anne:

Olivia had a birthday!
Olivia turned 5 on the 13th. Since I'm not the most organized person and I forgot about planning a party for her until the Saturday before her birthday (it was Monday), when I realized I should have planned it for that day. We had a little party with the grandparents on her birthday and then had a High School Musical 3 party on Friday.

As mentioned before, I'm not really very tech savvy, so I didn't think about the fact that my video taken with the camera in a vertical position might not be able to be rotated, but we got such a kick out of Olivia's blowing out the candles that I'm posting anyway. Just tip your head!
We also had a great time at her party. We decked out the house with lots of posters. Here's our new mantle decor:
We played freeze dance to the HSM soundtracks,
and played pin the "T" on Gabriella's necklace. As you can see, no one got the "T" in exactly the right spot, but Olivia got the closest.
We had cupcakes (Olivia thought it was so much fun blowing out her candles early on her birthday, that she tried it again), and had fun playing with her presents (especially the 3-D chalk!).

Oops!
The other day I let Jane play with my old cell phone, trying to keep her out of my mess. Jane was playing behind the curtain. I heard someone saying "hello," and thought Jane must have gotten hold of the regular phone and called someone.
When I pulled the curtain back, I realized she was talking on my old cell phone. I didn't think that was possible since there was no SIM card in it! When I picked it up, it said "EMERGENCY" I then realized she had called 911. I hurried to let the operator know there was no real emergency, and that I hadn't realized that you could still call 911 without a SIM card. Needless to say I was very embarassed, and won't be letting any cell phones be used as toys again!
So just in case some of you might also be less tech savvy, cell phones with a working battery and no SIM card can still call 911.
Here's a picture of our little trouble-maker (and Olivia). Jane came out wearing this "hat" (it's really her panties for a dress!).
